The Greatest Salesman in the World Part II: The End of the Story

Borrowed this from our company library right after I finished the original classic. However, I love Og's first book more than its sequel. It revolved on the story of Hafid (he's 20 yrs older here) embarking on a new career. This time, it tackled the Ten Vows of Success (***). I am eyeing The Christ Commission (saw that too in the central library, hehehe) as my next Mandino read (am wondering if this about evangelization?).

Some excerpts from this book:

- Never again will I pity or belittle myself. ***

- God plays no favorites.

- Never again will I greet the dawn without a map.***

- Always will I bathe my days in the golden glow of enthusiasm. ***

- With faith, I cannot fail.

- Never again will I be disagreeable to a living soul. ***

- We can influence others by treating them in the same manner we would like them to treat us.

- Always will I seek the seed of triumph in every adversity. ***

- All things shall pass.

- Never again will I perform any task at less than my best. ***

- Always will I throw my whole self into the task at hand. ***

- The person who is perpetually hesitating between which of the 2 things he or she will do, will do neither.

- Never again will I wait and hope for opportunity to embrace me. ***

- Always will I examine, each night, my deeds of the fading day. ***

- Everyone should be wiser today than yesterday.

- Always will I maintain contact, through prayers, with my Creator. **** (---- this is the best!)

- I promise..I swear...I vow...to never forget that the greatest talent God has bestowed on me is the power to pray.

- In the morning, prayer is the key that will open to me the treasures of God's blessings and in the evening, it is the key that places me under His protection.

- So long as it is possible to pray, there is always hope and courage. Without prayer, I can do little; with it all things are possible.

Mandino's nuggets of wisdom never fails to inspire me. Putting them in action (for the other statements) is the harder part, hehehe.

How about you, what's your favorite Og Mandino book?
