NBS Sale

Went to Robinson's Pioneer last Wednesday to meet a sister. While waiting for her, I passed by National Bookstore (syempre, paborito ko ito) and to my surprise, it's the great NBS Sale (for this branch only, that is). Konting kwento lang, when NBS had their sale last year at their branches in Greenbelt 1 and Glorietta 5, I decided to finally buy the books I've been dreaming to have (hinohold ko pagbili baka may mag regalo hahaha), these are the books I have read in ebook format but quite expensive if bought in hard copy (tapos sale pa, saan ka pa!).


I can attest that when NBS declares a Sale, it is a sale in the truest sense of the word. Yung ibang store kasi, sale pero sa totoo lang, dinagdagan na nila ng 10% ang original price (vinivisit ko kasi ang store araw araw kaya na track ko ang pagtaas ng presyo hahaha). I said to myself, hinding hindi na ako bibili ng book kung hindi sale! Etong si Bo Sanchez na lang yata ang hindi nag sa sale (hindi na naulit ang 10% discount for all his books during his birthday). Sa NBS sale, a book pegged at P978 can be bought at a mere P30. 3% of the original price meaning 97% discount lang naman :) pero syempre selected books lang and pagpasensiyahan niyo na rin kasi may konting lukot sa gilid (OK na OK lang yun!). Majority of the books can be bought at a 10-20% discount.



Sa sale sa Rob-Pioneer, I was a bit lucky dahil inilalabas pa lang ang stocks nung dumating ako (pati nga staff ng NBS, kasama namin sa pakikipag unahan sa books).Nasa cart pa lang, kinuha ko na hahaha. I was able to buy Rich Dad, Poor Dad for P50 bucks (original price is P299), Victoria Osteen's 1st book (bakit ganun parang si Joel Osteen din ang writing style) for P50 rin (orig price is P500 plus), Leadership and the One-minute manager which is different from the original One-minute Manager book but the same author, P30. Nakakuha rin ako ng book ni Dale Carnegie (have not read any of his works pero maraming books niya ang nasa library ng company namin) and Eat, Pray, Love (nakuha ko rin sa NBS Sale sa SM Pampanga naman ang 2nd book ni Gilbert, Committed). I spent P230 only for these five (5) books at a huge discount. Sobrang natuwa ako that I visited NBS GB1 and Glorietta 5 2 days after hoping may sale rin. Walang sale :) Siguro sabi ni Lord, o, quota ka na.

Ano ang difference ng NBS sale sa salvation ni binigay ni Jesus sa atin. Sa NBS sale, you pay the books at a fraction of its price. With His death on the cross, Jesus Christ paid the full price for our sins. That's how He loves us :) Celebrate that love!
