A Thank you List for the 28th Anniversary of Lingkod
Yesterday, Lingkod, my community, celebrated its 28th anniversary. It was a special event marked by a spirit-filled mass and Lord’s Day, life-giving talk and fun-filled branch presentations (Go Makati!), including a sumptuous meal (a 230-pax catered food served more than 280pax, talking about multiplication of the bread hehehe).
Once more I was reminded of the time I was invited in this community, circa 2004. Committing to the Lord thru this community is one of the greatest decisions I’ve made, and the happiest at that! The 8-year journey starting from Lingkod Angeles to Lingkod San Fernando to Lingkod Makati was never perfect (it will never be) but it was filled with tremendous grace, unexplainable joy, numerous victories and abounding love that only comes from Him. My life found its purpose. God found me J
Celebrating 28 years of God’s faithfulness, I wish to thank Him for Lingkod and for these things (in random order)
1. His unwavering faithfulness, abundant graces and constant love which I richly experience everyday!
2. Gift of prayer and scripture
3. Powerful worship in OPMs and Lingkod gatherings
4. Nars Garcia – my officemate who invited me to Lingkod J Thank you bro!
5. The 2004 Lingkod Angeles CLP Team: My DGL Sarah (and my DGmates); JC, our course leader in our CLP in Lingkod Angeles. More than his jokes hehehe, I remember his wisdom. For some reasons, I do not remember who our speakers were but I remember the talks J; the Greeters Team/Reg Team in that CLS – they memorized my name and it made me come back because I felt very much welcome. (This is the reason why I believe that the Greeters’ Team is essential in any Lingkod activity esp when members are new)
6. My CLP batchmates, majority of whom are still zealous in serving in other Lingkod branches here and abroad. We are faithful because He is faithful
7. Lot Tamayo-Aquino, my 1st AGL
8. Lingkod Angeles’ Sisters’ Household 2005 – this activity transitioned me into a “wala lang, kung-gusto-ko-aattend-ako-kung-ayaw-ko-hindi member” into a faithful member J and the GMMMACCQS Households I was a part of (1st San Juan Makati HH, DEEP, EGGS, RICE)
9. My loving and supportive AGL, Marge
10. NLTC 2005 at Los Banos, Laguna – my 1st Leaders’ Training Conference and it was also at this time that God revealed to me that He has great plans for me (Jeremiah 29:11) which prompted me to re-assess my career plans (7 long years in the call center industry) and eventually resigned
11. Arnold Panlilio – my 1st service partner (Admin, Lingkod Angeles)
12. BLs Dexter Cato, Romin Reyes, Art Bautista, Red Babano and BWMs Bheng Macapagal-Gana, Gagay Gonzales, Pola Cartalla, Joy Castillo and the senior leaders of Lingkod (ND/NWM/RD/RWM)
13. BLU and esp BAG (GMMMACCQS Regional Council)
14. My first air trip with Lingkod brothers and sisters at Butuan/Bislig/Davao J
15. A great service partner in BL Mel (syempre special mention!). His dedication to service is inspiring!
16. NLTC 2010 in Davao
17. Coron experience with Lingkod sisters J
18. Numerous trainings to equip me in my different roles and services
19. My leaders who were so patient with me and whose love I have personally experienced. You would really want to share that love to others
20. Fellowships and outreach activities and retreats galore
21. My 1st AG with service partner Apple
22. Current AG in Makati
23. Evangelization Ministry (this is close to my heart)
24. Branch Anniversaries and the festive celebrations that go with it
25. It’s in Lingkod that I heard the most inspiring talks from equally inspiring speakers ( the list is endless)
26. Way of Life of Lingkod – it keeps me grounded
27. Makati brothers and sisters – eto love ko talaga sila lahat esp the sisters. It’s really a joy (and a privilege) serving you!
28. My new service partner BL Abs (syempre special mention ulit!) and the rich wisdom he imparts to the b/s. I am looking forward to serving with you!
Truly, the Lord can never be outdone in generosity.
My Lingkod brothers and sisters, I wish to share this verse from Philippians 1:3-4, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.”
Semper Fidelis!
