Lingkod at 22
Posted on Friendster, Aug 2006
I was able to attend Lingkod National's Anniv OPM last Friday at Layforce, Guadalupe. The event was slated at 7 pm, I came around 833pm. Guess what? I was just a few minutes late :) I knew that it would not start early owing to the heavy rains and horrendous traffic. Sobra! But if I have not gone to my boarding house to get my eyeglasses, I would have been in the venue earlier. I was stuck in the b.house for a good 45 minutes dahil sa ulan and kulog and kidlat. Good thing, my boardmate came and offered me a ride on my way to Layforce ( pero traffic!!!). It was good to see kapatids all over Metro Manila. I saw a number of familiar faces. Kahit basang basa ako dahil sa paglakad ko from Guadalupe MRT to Layforce, it was worth it! Bro Art shared about the humble beginnings of Lingkod San Fernando ( of which I am a committed member). Bro Rommel led us into a Holy-spirit-filled worship. I believe Lingkod San Fernando is the 32nd branch and Lingkod Marikina, the 33rd branch. I remember that Lingkod Marikina just started a few months back, if I am not mistaken. Lingkod San Fernando is into its first year. God is Good! I dream of more branches for Lingkod in the next few years! Nakakalungkot that I won't be able to attend this year's NLTC at Butuan City. I do not have leave credits yet. Ang ganda pa naman nung teaser sa NLTC! On the other hand, I am happy for the delegates of Lingkod San Fernando, majority of whom are NLTC first-timers, for I know that this would truly enrich their spiritual lives at marami pang iba. I made that hard decision of quitting my previous job, amidst the perks and the joys of being in your comfort zone during last year's NLTC. I was truly blessed by that event. Going back to the original storyline, hehehhe, after the OPM, I was lucky to have a ride back home to Pampanga kasama si Chas and Art. Thank you, Lord :)
