Powerbooks!
Posted on Friendster, June 2006
List of books I have read in the past few weeks: ( Highly recommended)
1) Rich Dad, Poor Dad ( Robert Kiyosaki)
I thank Marj for this e-book. I visited Powerbooks last time and found out that this has evolved into a series of books catering to different kinds of people. It's like the phenomenon of the Chicken Soup for the Soul which spawned quite a number of versions ( for teens, moms, etc).
2) Stainless Longganisa ( Bob Ong)
Bob Ong is back! I adore this guy! It's just weird that he has not accepted my Friendster request, hahhaha. I was able to save 150 bucks because I told a fellow Bob Ong fanatic that the new book is out and she told me to buy her one. I agreed on the condition that she will let me read it first. I spent the 150 bucks buying another Bob Ong book though - ABNKKBSNPLAko which I have read previously at another Powerbooks branch.
3) Wealth Within Your Reach ( Francisco Colayco)
I thought of buying this book last Christmas but it seems too expensive ( or kuripot lang talaga ako?). Good thing I did not purchase it because I was able to get it for free! My company gives a copy to each of its employees once you complete the orientation training. Cool! I think Colayco patterned his book to that of Kiyosaki's ( same principle).
4) The Alchemist ( Paulo Coelho)
Whew! Finally! Thank you Oggie for the e-book! I completed reading it, 3/4 e-book-1/4 actual book ( magulo ba?). Due to time-constraints, I was not able to finish the e-book but I went to Powerbooks afterwards and finish the rest of it. I love it! Now, I can start reading Eleven Minutes which I have gotten as a Kris Kringle gift 2 Christmases ago. I promised that I will not venture into any other Coelho book until I get to read The Alchemist.
==================
I am re-reading The Purpose-Driven Life (Rick Warren) and I am on my 5th day :)
==================
I am lucky to being near a Powerbooks branch. I usually read my favorite books here and purchase them once I have extra money. Yes, I maximize the benefit this bookstore offers. :) When I am into Levis mood ( this means I get out of work at 5:01), I sometimes visit this store and just comfortably spend the time away reading, be it a book or a magazine.
Sigh***Too many interesting books. Too little time.
