Sari-Saring Kuwento 2008 (5)

World Pyro Olympics
Finally! Sa wakas! I was able to watch what others say "the most anticipated event of the year"!!!!!!!!! Yes, last May 24 at MOA. I was not sure what country it was but based from the papers I read yesterday....it was Italy and Venezuela. Do not know who exhibited first. I patiently waited for the 7:30pm display...Kahit ako lang mag-isa, go! There I was completely awed by the brilliant display of fireworks in the sky, amidst a throng of people. All we could do was...clap...say "Ganda!!!!", "Galing!!!", "Wohoooooo". Sorry, di talaga ako writer, hahahha. Mahina ako sa flowery descriptions. I guess, in a way, it was worth the I-am-not-going-home-this-weekend-Mom text I've been sending my mom for the past two Friday nights (Lingkod activities were held for 2 consecutive Saturdays prompting me not to go home na lang, add to that the increased rate in provincial fares). My mom's reply..."Ndi ako galit, Anak. Sad lang" Heartwarming noh? (Note: Masaya na si Mommy kasi nasa haus na ako ngayon, hehehehe.) Going back to the topic, I felt not alone at the event kasi there were lots of people. The atmosphere was brimming with excitement. Nagkataon, I was near a group of teeners (syempre, tatabi tayo sa kasing-edad natin) and I am amused with the way they speak, with the way they deliver their jokes ( these people have a good sense o humor without them knowing), with the way they react to other people's reactions. Nakakatuwa. Maingay pero nakakatuwa. I thought the Pyro Olympics for that night will be re-sked again as it was kinda raining. 2 Saturdays ago, I heard it in the radio that the Pyro sched for May 17 won't push through...it's moved to a Sunday, May 18. So go ang lola niyo sa MOA ng May 18 ( with my good friend May this time) but lo and behold, the saleslady told me there will be no Pyro that night as the waves are strong daw. It's re-sched May 24. Sakto, may meeting sa SFAC ng hapon ng Sat, madali na lang pumunta ng MOA. Sayang, I was not able to record the display. Lo-tech ang phone eh, hehehe. I did not wait for the 930pm sched as I still have work the next day. Can't wait for the next year's sched. Hope our country will get to host it again. :)

Realization 101: When I witnessed Pyro, it was raining, it was windy but people did not mind. Why? Because we were focused with the amazing lights we see. Same goes with life, there would be tumultous trials, there would be challenges but these will all amount to nothing if we will direct our sight on the True, Main Light :) May I not lose my focus in times like these.....

Blogging

It's been quite a while since I blogged. It's 2am and I am still wide-awake. With a gamut of work to do later, I should be soundly sleeping at this time to have that much energy for yet another brain-draining task. Wala lang, I just need to blog, trivial as it is. Honestly, I want to blog about a lot of things. Things that's been bothering me for several weeks now but I rather not because there are things that are better left unwritten. I guess I am not a blogger after all as I place restrictions on what I write and what the friendster and blogspot public may see. They say, people blog to express whatever feelings they have on a particular topic. No-holds-barred. Spontaneous. Devoid of pretensions. As I reviewed my past blog entries, I wrote them all when I was at my high. Hardly did I blog when I was full of negativity in my system (shy away from me at times like these...I may be contagious and it is not good). For those bloggable thoughts that I have that may be unbloggable in nature, I think I just have to put them in a journal. (May, it seems the Hello Kitty notebook u gave me will be of use now, hehehe). I will continue posting about the good food that I have tasted and would highly-recommend or the events that gave me so much joy or the people who have inspired me and other good stuff.

There is one prayer I love. Gives me comfort. At the end of an exhausting day, this serves as a closing for my night prayer...the serenity prayer...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference

Broadband
To quote the young lady from the Globe commercial..."Yey, may broadband na kame...!"
Hala, tinangkilik ang commercial ng kalaban :)
Ang masasabi ko..."Yey, makaka-watch na ako ng Preacher in Blue Jeans over the weekend!" Yahooo!!!!!!!!!!! Yipeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duday

Attended the 7th bday of my inaanak, Duday (Dana Denise), daughter of Jo. Masyado na yata akong ndi updated sa panahon kasi ngayon ko lang nalaman na sa 7th bday pala..may 7 wishes...7 treasures (I was included here).....7 roses and 7 candles. 'Twas good to see some Catergeians again after a long time, though we were just few. Mahirap nang i-kumpleto cguro, pero posible pa rin naman. Sa lahat ng wala kanina, we miss you.

The Feast

In the 2 weekends that I did not go home, I attended the Feast at Valle Verde on those 2 Sundays (hectic sched, hehehe). Had lunch-out with KFAM friends at Mega after. Last Sunday, Bo was back from his US tour. Learned a lot from his talk ( as always). May "ouch" sa akin as I fare low in the aspect of evangelization. Need to improve pa on that area. May I share God's love to others everyday.
