Tacos

Tacos!!! Yum! This is one of my favorites and I love to food-trip just to eat tacos. If I know that a certain resto offers this in their menu, I will not hesitate to try it....given that it is affordable (kuripot talaga, hehehe). One of my favorites is Mexicali. The secret of a good tacos is the sauce and the filling and with that, hats-off to Mexicali. I found about this when I was still studying at MFI. I would drop by Mega to have my early dinner as my class ends at 9:30pm. They have this combo meal that's cheap with a free iced tea but is only offered between 2:30-5:30. I really have to rush and take the MRT going to Ortigas to be there before 5:30pm kung ndi, wla akong pantulak, hehehe. Now that I am working at Makati, it was a joy to know that Mexicali has a branch at Glorietta. Surprise, they have that Combo again, this time, a few pesos higher (which was understandable as prices). Now, here's the trick and I just have to use my good 'ol math to know if it's a good treat or not. A regular Chicken BBQ Hard Tacos (other variants: Beef, Grilled Shrimp, Veggie) costs 82.00 php but there's VAT-whatever, thus it becomes 83.75 php. One time, I passed by it and saw this large tarpaulin outside showing their "affordable" Combo Meals (yeah, the same combo meals during my MFI days) and still, they are only offered between 2:30-5:30 pm. It is expected of me that whenever I crave for tacos (just like 2 sundays ago), I just need to be there between that period para makatipid. However, the meal with that Chicken BBQ Hard Tacos costs 99.00 php and they advertise it as "with free drink". Dito na ako nag-isip at nag-calculate, hehehe. Prior to ordering, I asked the cashier what's the difference with the regular order of tacos with that of the Combo Meal. Her answer was none except that the combo meal comes with a free iced tea. Wow, ok ah! My second question was, why does it cost 99.00 php when the regular order is just 83.75 php? Hmmm...simply put....she did not give an acceptable explanation. Kaya ang nasabi ko na lang...."Ah ok. One regular order of Chicken BBQ Tacos (Hard) and service water, please" and syempre, ang aking matamis na smile :)

But then again, I still love Mexicali Tacos and this incident will not hinder me from going back :) Service water forever na lang, hahaha.
